Tights & Ballet Shoes
In 2022, we made some important changes to acknowledge and honor every dancer's skin color. It is preferred that you choose tights that match your dancer's skin tone as best as possible along with flesh toned shoes to complete a clean and cohesive line.
For our Caucasian dancers, pink tights and pink ballet shoes are the traditional choice and are preferred to maintain the classic ballet aesthetic, especially when performing on stage due to the lighting. However, if you prefer a different option that better matches your dancer's skin tone, that is also perfectly acceptable.
Thank you for your attention to this matter as we strive to celebrate the diversity within our dance community.
